Club Chairman Lionel Wiggins commented "Cliff was the epitome of a good club member. He must have played hundreds of matches for the Club and ran teams and served the Club over many years.

 

"I had many great battles with Cliff on court myself but they were always played in the right spirit. He was an absolute gentleman.

 

"You may not believe this, but he and myself and a few others from the Club once travelled to Athens to play squash in the Greek Open - sounds ridiculous but it was great fun, Uxbridge Club players against the professionals.

"On behalf of the Club, I would like to pass on my condolences to his wife and family."
